About the Class

SPARK! (States of Matter)

Explore states of matter through the lens of racing. During the workshop, students will learn how solids, liquids and gases are used within the sport of racing. Students will have a chance to conduct an experiment using a solid and liquid to power a car to move. (Race cars are prebuilt for teams of threes to use. Teachers may request cars for use at school post experiment.)

Allergy alert: Vinegar, citrus acids and baking soda are used in the experiment
