NASCAR HALL OF FAME REVS UP FOR RACE WEEK IN CHARLOTTE
Activities include Over the Edge fundraising event, NASCAR Fitness Challenge, Q&A with the Class of 2019, extended hours and more.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 24, 2018) – The NASCAR Hall of Fame has a full lineup of events and activities to enhance the experience for race fans and visitors in Charlotte leading up to the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend.
Guests can experience the interactive entertainment attraction during special extended operating hours Friday, Sept. 28 through Sunday, Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All other dates during Race Week will be normal operating hours.
RACE WEEK EVENTS
Tuesday, Sept. 25
Laps Around Uptown (11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
Fans, local and visitors are invited to join Charlotte Motor Speedway and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Erik Jones as he takes the opening few laps around Uptown Charlotte to usher in race week and to celebrate the inaugural Bank of America ROVAL 400. Learn more here.
Wednesday, Sept. 26
Over the Edge Charlotte (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
Join the NASCAR Hall of Fame Foundation and The NASCAR Foundation for Over the Edge Charlotte, a signature fundraising event dedicated to building a better future for youth across our community through education and healthcare services. Fans can watch some of their favorite NASCAR drivers and characters rappel 10 stories down the Embassy Suites Charlotte Uptown. Learn more here.
NASCAR Fitness Challenge Powered by Lilly Diabetes (5 – 7 p.m.)
NASCAR drivers, pit crew members and team employees will put the pedal to the metal in a relay-style stationary bike race led by CycleBar instructors on the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza, competing for a $15,000 donation to the charity of their choice. Fans are invited to support on social media using the #NASCARFitChallenge hashtag, and then come to the NASCAR Hall of Fame to cheer on their favorite team. Learn more here.

Racing Insiders Tour – Tour I-77 (9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
The Racing Insiders Tour is an all-access, in-depth tour in and around Charlotte's racing community. The tour starts at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and then participants hop on a motorcoach to visit Joe Gibbs Racing, JR Motorsports and Penske Racing. Learn more at racinginsiderstour.com.

1948: Proving Grounds
Stock car racing faced an uncertain future in 1948, as rival sanctioning bodies and promoters wrestled for control of the sport. This special exhibit tells the story of that first tumultuous, but ultimately triumphant NASCAR season: a tale of vision, a tale of will, a tale of risk-takers, thrill-seekers and men willing to gamble anything and everything on the dusty proving grounds.
