Frances Flock's Scrapbooks
by Daniel J. Simone, Ph.D. April 15, 2020
Mrs. Flock’s scrapbooks provide a detailed glimpse into the early years of the sport and its first superstars.
Her work was indeed Hall of Fame worthy, for some content has already been digitized onto a kiosk on Heritage Speedway and made available to NASCAR Hall of Fame guests. However, a couple of weeks before she passed away, NASCAR Hall of Fame Collections Manager Kevin Larrabee and Curator Daniel Simone, were invited by her daughters Joy and Peggy to spend some time with Mrs. Flock at her house, where she gifted the scrapbooks and dozens of additional photos, programs, books and other artifacts to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
We are honored to serve as keepers of her amazing work and honor her dedication to preserving NASCAR’s history.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is open Wednesday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To purchase tickets, go to nascarhall.com/tickets.
